Celebrating International Women’s Day and Women in Leadership

Author Icon Rick Faulk, Chief Executive Officer

International Women's Day

International Women’s Day is not only a celebration, but also a commitment to progress and at Locus Robotics, we recognize that diverse leadership is both good for business and essential to innovation, resilience, and success. As we take a moment to reflect on the contributions of women at Locus and across the industry, we reaffirm our dedication to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace where women thrive at all levels.

Women in Leadership at Locus Robotics

At Locus, we believe in empowering women to lead. Our workforce of 456 includes 94 women, making up 20% of our team, and the true measure of progress is representation and opportunity. Nearly half (49%) of the women at Locus hold leadership titles, spanning from Manager to Executive Leadership Team (ELT) roles.

  • 17 women serve at the Director level or above, accounting for 31% of that leadership tier.
  • 29 women hold Manager roles, leading teams and driving key initiatives.
  • Five women sit on our Executive Leadership Team (ELT), making up 29% of this influential group.

These numbers reflect our commitment to not just hiring women but ensuring they have the platform, resources, and support to grow into leadership roles.

Why Representation at the Top Matters

Research consistently demonstrates that companies with diverse leadership teams outperform their peers. A recent report by McKinsey & Company underscores that gender diversity in leadership correlates with stronger business performance, higher profitability, and improved innovation. Companies in the top quartile for gender diversity on executive teams are 25% more likely to have above-average profitability compared to those in the bottom quartile.

More importantly, representation matters for the next generation of leaders. When women see other women in leadership roles, they envision pathways for their own growth, and it creates a cycle of mentorship, sponsorship, and opportunity that benefits the entire organization.

Creating an Inclusive Culture

At Locus, celebrating women in the workforce goes beyond leadership statistics. It’s about building a culture where every individual, regardless of gender, has the chance to succeed. Here’s how we make that a reality:

  1. Mentorship & Career Development
We actively support women’s professional growth through mentorship programs, leadership training, and development opportunities. By investing in talent early, we create pathways for women to rise through the ranks.
  2. Workplace Flexibility & Support
We recognize that career advancement shouldn’t come at the expense of work-life balance. Flexibility, parental leave policies, and a supportive workplace culture help ensure that women don’t have to choose between career success and personal responsibilities.
  3. Advocating for Industry-Wide Change
As leaders in warehouse automation and robotics, we recognize our responsibility to advocate for greater diversity across the industry. By supporting initiatives that encourage more women to enter STEM fields and logistics, we contribute to a future where gender equity is the norm, not the exception.

The Road Ahead

While we are proud of the progress we’ve made, there is always more work to do. Women remain underrepresented in many technical and leadership roles across the technology and robotics sectors. At Locus, we are committed to driving meaningful change—not just within our company but in the broader industry.

This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the women who lead, innovate, and inspire at Locus Robotics. Their contributions shape our success and push us forward. And as we look ahead, we remain steadfast in our mission: to build a workplace where talent and leadership know no gender.

To all the women at Locus and beyond, thank you. Your work, leadership, and vision make all the difference.
