Locus Robotics and MSK Pharma Group Set New Standards in Pharmaceutical Logistics

Autonomous Mobile Robots Optimize Fulfillment Processes in Bens

Amsterdam/Bensheim, 12 November.2025 - Locus Robotics, the global leader in flexible, AI-driven warehouse automation using autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), today announced the successful implementation of its LocusOne™ platform at MSK Pharma Group. The robotics solution will take over the central orchestration and management of 48 AMRs. This will continuously improve task distribution, route planning, and resource utilization, enabling efficient, scalable, and data-driven warehouse operations

Headquartered in Heppenheim, MSK Pharma Group is a full-service provider offering comprehensive solutions for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. The company supplies pharmacies, pharmaceutical wholesalers, and healthcare facilities. To efficiently handle growing order volumes while reliably meeting strict GDP and GMP requirements in pharmaceutical logistics—from seamless temperature control and traceability to validated processes and maximum product safety—MSK Pharma Group has chosen Locus Robotics’ automation solutions.

The family-owned company has been successfully using Locus Robotics in its two logistics centers in Bensheim, which together cover an area of 28,000 m², for the past six months. The autonomous robots assist employees with order picking and significantly increase efficiency through a high degree of automation. As a result, more orders can be processed per day while reducing the processing time per order. Thanks to the support of the mobile robot fleet, offered by Locus under a highly flexible Robots-as-a-Service (RaaS) model, order processing is now much more efficient. This benefits both partners and their customers: pharmaceuticals and healthcare products reach their destination faster, while employees benefit from ergonomically optimized workflows, with noticeably reduced walking distances, lifting, and bending tasks.

Greater Flexibility and Scalability with LocusONE

A unique aspect of the project is the centralized control of two physically separate warehouse buildings. By using the data-driven LocusONE automation platform, the robot fleet can be flexibly deployed across locations, raising both flexibility and scalability to a new level.

Focus on Sustainability

The warehouse in Bensheim also sets new standards in sustainability, as it:

  • Is fully CO₂-neutral
  • Operates without fossil fuels
  • Is powered by photovoltaic systems
  • Uses energy-efficient and long-lasting vehicles

“The deployment of Locus Robotics is an important step toward future-oriented logistics processes,” emphasizes Simon Heß, Managing Director of MSK Pharma Group. “The mobile robot fleet not only increases our efficiency and processing speed but also significantly improves working conditions. Less physical strain, faster order processing, and even more reliable delivery to our partners—these are clear added values we achieve with this investment.”

“Our successful collaboration with MSK Pharma Group impressively demonstrates how specialized industries such as pharmaceutical logistics in Germany can sustainably secure their competitiveness through innovative automation,” says Denis Niezgoda, Chief Commercial Officer, International at Locus Robotics. “The project also highlights our growing presence in the German market and shows how our innovative robotics and automation technologies can deliver measurable improvements in specialized sectors like pharmaceuticals.”
