6 Top Takeaways from LogiMAT 2023

The coffee cups are packed up, the booths are down, the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre floors are quiet (until the next event), and the LocusBots are on their way home, along with their human colleagues. But the energy and memories of LogiMAT will be top of mind for a while.

Here are the top LogiMAT moments to remember from the team that worked our Locus Robotics’ booth. You may want to drink an espresso while reading these highlights.

Top European Supply Chain Challenges

Decision making is becoming harder for supply chain managers as factors like geopolitical risk, trade sanctions, high inflation, tight labor markets, energy crises, and weakening consumption add up. The solutions and companies that will best help supply chain managers are ones that can help navigate this uncertainty with flexible operational scalability and unparalleled time to value.

Intralogistics and Automation

In today’s world of Industry 4.0, labor shortages, and the Internet of Things (IoT), it’s more important than ever for companies to focus on automating whatever they can for cost efficiency. This automation can be accomplished through artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and digital and interconnected solutions including 3D printing, virtual reality, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and sensors. These advances in automation offer unparalleled levels of productivity throughout the supply chain and they were all on display at LogiMAT.

Robots Everywhere

There were more robot vendors than ever before on the show floor, and attendees loved seeing all of the robots in action. In fact, there was a new hall this year – Hall 6 – that was specifically geared to autonomous robotic solutions and vendors.

The Launch of Locus Vector

Locus Vector at LogiMatOn Tuesday, Locus Robotics introduced Locus Vector, the higher weight capacity AMR that can hold up to 600 pounds/272 kilograms.  The omnidirectional AMR can be used in order picking, putaway, and point to point (P2P) transport to carry containers and items on shelves throughout a warehouse. Our Public Relations team also introduced Vector’s roll-top and new shelf configurations during LogiMAT.

Warehouse Orchestration

Booth attendees raved about the LocusONE platform, which supports up to a thousand or more robots, operating in sites as large as one million square feet or more. The platform executes multiple use cases and form factors (Origin, Vector, and Max) simultaneously in a single, intelligent, and orchestrated solution. With LocusONE, LocusBots engage in a diverse array of tasks — including each picking and putaway, case picking and putaway, replenishment, pallet building, routine routes, point-to-point transport, counting, and more — within a single warehouse. The data science behind the scenes optimizes the mix of tasks throughout the day to achieve optimal warehouse productivity.

Coffee Art

Goldini Latte at LogiMatGoldini Coffee provided espressos decorated with our logo by a charming barista at their mobile coffee bar. Their delicious coffee is from the Franconian espresso manufacturer, Espressone. The Espressone beans are roasted in their coffee roastery in Cadolzburg near Nuremberg. The best green coffees are processed with the greatest passion and care in the manual drum roasting process. At low temperatures, the more than 800 flavorings have enough time to develop the full flavor profile – and you can taste it!

Now that you’ve seen what you missed at LogiMAT, you don’t have to wait until next year to improve your warehouse operations. Locus Robotics can help you now!

From picking to putaway; replenishment to returns, we have the dynamic robotics automation solution to meet your fulfillment requirements.
