Schwaig, Germany – March 27, 2026 – Locus Robotics, the leader in Flexibility-First Warehouse Automation, today announced the successful deployment of its solution at third-party logistics (3PL) leader ITG’s logistics facility near Munich Airport. Operating as a 3PL provider for a global premium fashion brand, ITG manages a footwear-focused B2B fulfillment environment defined by narrow aisles, dense storage, and strong seasonal demand shifts.

Going beyond a simple deployment, this partnership is a unique step. Rather than treating picking and replenishment as separate workflows, the deployment links putaway decisions directly to picking performance — helping to shape inventory placement, reduce travel distance, and improve throughput inside the high-density mezzanine environment.

An Efficient Loop for Picking, Putaway — and Transformational Throughput

Where traditional warehouse workflows often treat putaway and picking separately, at ITG’s Schwaig facility, the two workflows are orchestrated in real-time through LocusONE™.

Here, Locus robots assist associates with both picking and replenishment tasks, while LocusONE analyzes operational data in real-time to guide replenishment priorities, adjust slotting strategies and balance work across the mezzanine floor.

This intelligent, AI-driven orchestration reduces travel distance, and increases overall pick productivity and throughput — all within a narrow-aisle mezzanine layout. The result is a tightly coordinated operational loop, for continuous performance.

Within the first year of operation, ITG’s Schwaig facility achieved more than:

  • 2 million units picked
  • 140,000 orders processed
  • 100,000 replenishment orders executed
  • 35%+ performance improvement since deployment, through ongoing optimization.

As the facility launched with Locus Robotics already in place, this improvement represents incremental productivity gains driven by ongoing optimization — highlighting the long-term value of Locus’ data-led partnership beyond initial deployment.

A RaaS Partnership for Narrow-Aisle Performance with No Retrofit

Delivered through Locus Robotics’ Robots‑as‑a‑Service (RaaS) relationship, ITG’s performance improvements continue well after deployment, thanks to optimization using data from LocusONE.

Where narrow-aisle, high-density initially presented a challenge; with a Locus partnership, ITG’s Schwaig facility can now adapt to changing order profiles, adjust capacity for seasonal peaks, and shift to meet customer requirements with no infrastructure lock-in, retrofit or operational disruption.

"In high‑density environments like mezzanine operations, travel time quickly becomes the limiting factor," said Denis Niezgoda, Chief Commercial Officer, International, Locus Robotics. "By coordinating putaway and picking through LocusONE’s orchestration platform, ITG is able to actively shape how work flows through the facility and sustain high throughput in a constrained layout."

Scaling Automation Across Complex 3PL Operations

The Schwaig deployment represents ITG’s first project with Locus Robotics, and forms part of a broader automation strategy supporting multiple locations.

Following the successful launch, ITG plans to expand Locus deployments to support additional brands with different order profiles and product categories. These environments range from high‑volume footwear distribution to small‑item ecommerce fulfillment.

"3PL providers operate in an environment where customer requirements change constantly," said Julian-Patrick Schuller, Key Account Manager, ITG GMBH Internationale Spedition + Logistik. "Our collaboration with Locus Robotics allows us to scale capacity, maintain service levels, and continuously refine our operations as conditions evolve."

With LocusONE’s intelligent orchestration, ITG can adapt automation across each facility’s different workflows, while maintaining consistent operational visibility and performance management.
