Deployment Engineer

Locus Robotics is a leader in the rapidly growing eCommerce order fulfillment optimization space. Locus Robotics is seeking a Deployment Engineer to implement our warehouse management solutions at customer sites. The Deployment Engineer will work in unique combinations of warehouse logistics, mapping, training, and relationship building with effective communications. The Deployment Engineer travels extensively (90%), with all expenses paid, nation-wide in the U.S and Canada.  Residing near major airports is a plus, remote position.

Responsibilities:

  • Implementation and deployment of complex robotic order fulfillment solution, including robotic hardware, software and servers at customer locations.
  • Generating and configuring SLAM-based maps of warehouse/fulfillment centers according to a given AutoCAD or CAD related software.
  • Manage onsite customer relationships with multiple internal and external.
  • teams during the on-site implementation.
  • Assist with infrastructure, robot/ software set-up and support during initial system deployment.
  • After install on-site customer support.
  • Perform other duties as required. 

 Qualifications:

  • BS in Robotics Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 1+ years’ experience with Autonomous Mobile Robots.
  • Experience with Linux or Unix systems, ROS (Robot Operating System), and SLAM-based navigation desirable.
  • Warehouse software or logistics systems deployment experience.
  • Experience in warehouse/fulfillment center mapping a plus.
  • Technical knowledge of IT or complex professional systems deployment.
  • Self-motivated and able to solve problems independently and in customer settings.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams.
  • Knowledge of and interest in diverse technical topics, including software, hardware and robotics.
  • Proficient English written and verbal communications skills required to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams.
  • 90% travel is required with this role.
