WILMINGTON, MA – April 7, 2026 – Locus Robotics, the leader in Flexibility-First Warehouse Automation, today announced that The Quality Group (TQG), one of Europe’s fastest-growing eCommerce providers of sports nutrition and lifestyle supplement brands, has surpassed a total 30 million total units picked – and achieved a milestone of 500,000 picks in a single day – using Locus Robotics at its 50,000 m² fulfillment center in Elsdorf, Germany.
Sustaining Fulfillment Adaptability Amid Demand Volatility
The milestone, achieved just over a year after the site opened, highlights the adaptive capability of flexible automation in the face of unpredictable demand and SKU volatility.
As the parent company of ESN and More Nutrition, TQG serves highly engaged online communities where product demand is frequently shaped by planned influencer campaigns and sudden social media exposure can turn any SKU into a fast mover at short notice. In this environment, SKU turnover shifts rapidly, and order volumes can increase without warning. Adaptive fulfillment infrastructure ensures that throughput remains stable across these varying demand patterns.
From Deployment to 30 Million Picks – and 500,00 Picks a Day
To support rapid growth and consolidate two warehouse operations into one high-performance site, TQG opened its new fulfillment center in February 2025. From contract signature to first productive pick, fewer than 90 days passed.
The deployment was executed in four phases:
The Elsdorf facility targets a throughput of approximately 60,000 orders per day, and is designed to handle 500,000 units daily as volumes ramp.
Rather than commit to fixed-capacity infrastructure,TQG deployed Locus Robotics’ Robots-as-a-Service (RaaS) model, allowing the team to scale robot capacity in line with real-time demand, and without upfront capital expenditure.
TQG surpassed a milestone of 20 million picks within the first year of operation. Just months later, that number has now exceeded 30 million, reflecting how quickly the fulfillment center has been able to scale output as volumes increased.
Support, Scale and a Partnership for Continued Success
A central element of TQG’s deployment is Locus Fast Pick, implemented at every pick station. Fast Pick dynamically allocates multiple robots in front of a single pick face, effectively creating a continuous “pick wall” for the operator. This clustering model ensures that if any SKU quickly turns into a fast mover, LocusONE™ automatically concentrates robots and work assignments in that area.
In addition, TQG operates dedicated ultra-fast-mover lanes for anticipated campaign volumes. SKUs expected to experience significant demand spikes are positioned in these high-density zones to enable even greater throughput. Within these lanes, separate pallet-based replenishment aisles ensure that picking remains uninterrupted, even during intensive restocking cycles. This configuration enables thousands of units of throughput within the zone, with picker productivity reaching between 400 and 600 units per hour.
“Running 60,000 orders per day with daily volume swings requires more than automation. It requires flexibility without financial risk,” said Cihan Yasar, Site Manager Elsdorf at The Quality Group. “We deliberately chose the Locus RaaS model over a €20 to €30 million fixed infrastructure investment. It enables us to sustain high throughput every day while keeping capital flexible and aligned with our growth strategy."
Beyond the technology, the deployment is supported through Locus’ RaaS subscription model, combining continuous performance optimization with 24/7 operational support. During peak periods, the system scales rapidly without structural changes, with LocusONE dynamically reallocating robots and workloads to protect throughput and service levels. Ongoing AI, software, and hardware updates ensure the operation continues to improve over time, allowing TQG to integrate once and scale continuously as demand evolves.
"The Robots-as-a-Service approach fundamentally changes the economics of warehouse design," said Denis Niezgoda, Chief Commercial Officer, International at Locus Robotics. "It proves that enterprise-scale performance can be achieved through OPEX without long-term forecast exposure or rigid capacity constraints. For our industry, that is meaningful. It shows that high-throughput fulfillment no longer has to begin with massive upfront capital. It can begin with flexibility and scale from there."
Today, the Elsdorf fulfillment center is not only equipped for current volumes, but is also prepared for future growth phases and unpredictable demand.
